They're everywhere!

A dance recital is about the worst place for a person with an aversion to large loud crowds to be. I don't think I have ever been in a place where there is so many girls. Every age is represented in the ranks of their doll painted faces, jumping and yelling, in various colorful costumes, all over the whole building. I find myself retreating to the light booth, even though I have spent most of the day in it, because it's silence is a beautiful thing after wading and weaving through the mass of estrogen. I have made a promise to myself that if I ever have a child, I will let them decide whether they want to dance, and not force them to as many of the children here seem to be. So many flashes, so many people capturing the image of their child as a dolled up ballerina, I just don't get it. Stepford Children...
