Mitzvahs

I just don't understand bar/bat mitzvahs. I am not Jewish, so it is not that surprising, but I can't comprehend sometimes what people do for their child on this special day. Every time I work on another one, something new amazes me about them. One time I was amazed at how much random trinkety stuff was given out at it. Another time it was how over the top the decorations can get (the centerpieces looked like huge truffula trees from Dr. Seuss). This time I was amazed at the fact that a room was just dedicated to video games. This is a Bat Mitzvah, with a PS3 a Wii and an Xbox 360. I cannot even imagine what it would have had if it were for a boy. If only I could understand spending so much money for one day for your 12-13 year old.
